The UNC Lenoir Community Walking Track is located on the campus of the hospital and available dawn to dusk, seven days a week. Landscaped to create an attractive environment to exercise in, the walking track has plenty of public parking, a water fountain, fenced-in playground, and picnic tables. Restrooms are located inside the hospital and may be accessed through the hospital’s front entrance.
For our guests’ safety the track is open from dawn to dusk. Parents are asked to be responsible for their children while they are on the premises.
The track is designed to be visually appealing and functional. Walking around the outer perimeter of the track six times is equal to one mile, walking around the largest circle of the track 8 1/2 times equals a mile.
Walkers are asked to wear appropriate exercise clothes when exercising and to wear rubber soled shoes.
For the safety of our guests, skateboards, bikes, roller blades, and pets are not allowed. Parent-attended strollers are welcome.
At the Minges Wellness Center we celebrate every success whether it is miles walked, classes attended, or pounds lost. We applaud your efforts and revel in your accomplishments. Come celebrate with us!
